「TYPEFACE.TOKYO」は、東京の人々や風景を感じられる書体を制作するプロジェクトです。江戸切子の幾何学模様と、東京タワー、東京スカイツリーのシルエットをモチーフにオリジナル書体を試作しました。つながりあった幾何学的な線の美しさと、一定に保たれた距離感や無機質さを表現しました。
TYPEFACE.TOKYO is a project to create font that can feel the people and landscape of Tokyo. I made a prototype of typeface with inspiration from Edo Kiriko's geometric pattern, the silhouette of Tokyo Tower and that of Tokyo Skytree. In this typeface, the beauty of geometrically connected lines and a sense of constant distance or fragility.
各文字の設計には、関東の民家や茶室に使われる基準尺のひとつである「江戸間」の特徴が取り入れられています。モチーフから得られた比率を用いて配置した正方形を「柱」に見立て、その柱の中心を結んだ線を基準に設計されています。
Characteristic of Edoma which is one of standard scale used for Kanto's private house and tea room is incorporated into the design of letters. It is designed based on the line connecting the centers of the squares arranged using a ratio obtained from motifs.
武内 康次 － 1985年生まれ。法政大学工学部システムデザイン学科卒業。在学中より株式会社レ・インにてグラフィック、WEB制作業務を経験し、卒業後は同社に2年間勤務。2010年に株式会社モノグラフアーツを共同設立し、企業、大学、広告関係のWEB制作のほか、家電製品のGUIデザインを手掛けている。
TAKEUCHI Koji ― Born in 1985. Graduated from the Hosei University Department of Art and Technology in 2008. Worked at Le-in Inc. as a graphic and web designer from 2006 to 2010. Co-founded MONOGRAPH ARTS INC. in 2010. Working on the design of websites such as companies, universities and advertisements and the design of GUI for home electronics products.
